One Good Thing About Hell
The one and only good thing about hell, is the fact that we don’t have to go.
Hell is a place that many people think of as a fairy tail or just something mentioned to try and scare us straight. I’m no hell expert but I can tell you this: hell is very real, it is a place that was made for Satan and his angels. It’s only purpose is to provide eternal torment for those worthy of it.
What does it take for you to be eligible for all the torment hell has to offer? All you have to do is to be born and live to the age of accountability without accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. One of the saddest things about hell, is the fact there will be many good people there who thought they would be ok. They thought that through clean living, good deeds, giving and grace they would make it to heaven. Wrong! God is definitely full of grace, along with mercy, love, long suffering and a host of other great works but His grace is not extended to you unless you first accept His only Son Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior.
God has another attribute that I pray I never witness in my life. That would be the wrath of God. When the time is right God will destroy everything and everyone who opposed Him. Know this, if you are not for God, you are against Him. There is no happy median when it comes to serving the Lord. Millions of people have already died since the beginning of time with no chance to regain Gods free gift of salvation. They are destined to spend eternity in hell where there will be total darkness with flames burning from the outside and worms feasting on the flesh from the inside
Have you ever been burned? Even the slightest burns cause great pain. Can you imagine having your entire body burn forever? To beg for death every second of eternity without ever being allowed to die. I personally can not imagine the horror that hell has to offer. There is definitely a flip side to this story and that is Heaven. The cost of getting into heaven is so high that I doubt that any of us could afford it. God knew this as well and became flesh. He transformed from Almighty God into the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
We celebrate His birth on Christmas , His death on Good Friday, and His resurrection on Easter Sunday. Jesus was born for basically two reasons. The first was to teach us a way of living that is pleasing to God. To show us how to maintain a life of peace, love, and happiness through Him. Secondly, he was put here to die. Jesus Christ was created by God to become a bridge between us and God. His death on the cross provided atonement ( forgiveness ) for the sins of the world providing we accept Him as Lord and believe in Him. So in short, the costly price of heaven has been paid in full by Jesus Christ when he gave his life for us on that cross. The Roman soldiers didn’t Kill Him, our sins did. Those huge nails didn’t hold Him on that cross, His love for us is what kept him there.
Our wonderful Savior defeated death, hell, and the grave when He rose from the dead on the 3rd day to return to the right side of God the Father. So there you have God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Blessed Trinity. God in 3 parts all trying to give you and I eternal life.
Many folks dwell on the eternal part, and yes it is very important but what we do here echoes in eternity. Don’t waste another day fighting over the scraps of this world. Get on your knees humbly before God and accept your eternal gift from Him. There is no set prayer to accomplish this, but if you like here is an example: Dear Heavenly Father, I don’t know you as well as I want to, but I do however realize that I Love You and want you to be the center of my life. I humbly submit to you my life, please give me a fresh start. Please forgive me for the sins that I have committed, and the strength to turn away from my old way of life. I want to be changed forever, and to follow you. I know you died on the cross and then rose from the dead to secure the opportunity for me to spend eternity with you in heaven. Lord I’ve never had much direction in my life, and I pray that you will now give me all that I need to follow you. Thank you for saving me, and for never giving up on me. I’ll do my very best not to let you down, I love you and I praise you. I’m sorry you had to suffer so much, but I truly Thank You for dying for me. In the Mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
If you sincerely just prayed the above prayer or one like it, then congratulations are in order. You are now a member in the Family of God. You have just been given newness of life through Christ, old things have passed away never to be remembered again. This is not a license to sin, Nor is it just hell Insurance! If you look at it that way, one would have to doubt the sincerity and motives of your original plea for salvation through the blood of Jesus.
